Lunch Break

School Lunch for November 7th, 2012

Minestrone, melon pan, fish, and fruit

Served on October 29th, 2012 in a Saitama junior high school

This is why I’m so jealous of my boyfriend’s meals. Here we have an orange, a full loaf of melon bread, and minestrone along with a fried fish. Perhaps correctly, the individuals in charge of determining the menu items served at the various school levels here in Saitama have decided little kids don’t do flavor. Bland soups, steamed veggies, white bread. But the junior high kids? Real food. Real soups. Real noodles. Sweet bread. I don’t envy him the fish, though. Never nice seeing your meat product’s entire dead carcass on your plate, popped eyeballs and all.

  1. Seeing slightly burned fish in your lunch could vanish the entire day’s appetite.
Seems good for those who in diet. 😆
