Lunch Break

School Lunch for September 20th, 2012

Miso, fried fish, and rice

Served on June 29th, 2012 in Saitama

This is the kind of meal I dread. I’m sorry Japan, I’m not a fan of fried fish chunk, generic miso puddle, and white rice. Even the grapefruit couldn’t redeem this. And, how awful is grapefruit with milk, anyway?! The Sapporo glass isn’t full of beer, for those curious. The end of June is warm enough that mugicha was offered to all adults. How cold barley tea became a staple of summer in Japan I do not know. It’s one of the least appetizing teas I’ve ever tasted.
